ALPHA - THE PIANO OF THE 21ST CENTURY - MADE IN AUSTRIA
AUSTRIAN INNOVATION
After 300 years of the art of piano building, the time has finally come: With the new ALPHA Piano, a new milestone in the history of the piano has been reached. With its concert grand action and its incomparable sound, this high-tech digital piano gives the player the feeling of playing an acoustic concert grand piano.
FORWARD-LOOKING DESIGN FOR HIGH DEMANDS
The ALPHA Piano's appearance is distinctive, timelessly elegant and archetypically forward-looking. The surface can be customized in many different finishes (carbon, matte, glossy piano black, etc.). We deliberately set a standard with the decision to collaborate with such a renowned design company as Porsche Design Studio in Zell am See, Austria:The ALPHA is forward-looking in every aspect - in its sound, action and design.
GRAND PIANO ACTION
All ALPHA Pianos utilize the full action of a concert grand piano, such as those used in a Bösendorfer 280, Steinway D-274 or Yamaha CF-X. There is no other digital piano in the world that exhibits these properties. The uncompromising striving for perfection is complemented by an original Renner action and genuine felt hammer heads.
SENSORS AS PIANO STRINGS
The felt hammers do not strike the usual two or three strings, but rather pressure sensors. This technology was specially developed for the ALPHA. What's decisive for the playing feel is the fact that these sensors perform like piano strings. Through them, the force of the hammer's strike and the resistance at the strike point are ascertained. Like a traditional grand piano, the force of the hammer's strike thereby determines the volume.
HIGHEST-QUALITY MATERIAL FOR PLAYING FEELING AND WEAR RESISTANCE
In manufacturing the ALPHA Piano, we deliberately work exclusively with the best suppliers known. The solid wood fingerboard is engineered to be low-wear. Since the ALPHA does not need a cast iron frame, the keys can be made nearly straight. For the key surface, in additional ebony, Taran is used, a material having ivory-like properties that can give professional and amateur pianists alike an authentic playing feeling. The ALPHA Piano's key bed is made of solid spruce (the best tonewood), just like in traditional piano building, the chassis of glass fiber reinforced plastic and aluminum.
60 GB SOUND LIBRARY
The sound library by VSL (Vienna Symphonic Library), which can be installed on a built-in computer as an option, offers the ultimate solution. The famous Viennese recording wizards have digitally captured the sound of a Bösendorfer Imperial concert grand piano with 97 keys at a resolution never before witnessed. A sound free from amplitude or frequency modulations—only the pure sound, in 1200 samples per key. With this feature, the ALPHA experience is in a class by itself for both artists and audiences. The Bösendorfer Imperial sound is available in three microphone positions: player, distant and close. What's wonderful about this is that you can record in the player position, then lean back and listen to your work in the distant position. To do so, you'll need a DAW (digital audio workstation) with MIDI functionality. Here is a piece by Oscar Peterson in the three variants:
AND MORE
With its simple control of continuously variable height adjustment, the piano is always optimally adjustable to individual body height. Postural problems can thereby be avoided and long playing period made possible. Pedals, which are driven wirelessly and the keyboard's automatic opening when powering the piano on show the ALPHA's path: from tradition into the future.
ALPHA. No compromises.
THE ORIGIN OF SOUND.
